Cheers to you!

Winter blues got you down? Just order this CD of eight tracks of encouragement from someone you don’t know and continuous cheers JUST FOR YOU from an “audience of 30,000!” With tracks like “We Believe in You,” “Thank You My Friend,” and “Great Job” (“praising you for being a hard worker,” the site says), you’ll be feeling great about yourself in no time. This CD is even endorsed by Ellen DeGeneres (?!). If you don’t want to buy the album, you can download an mp3 of 5:45 of applause for only $4.95. The CD is $16.95, but who can put a price on happiness?

I feel like it’s too easy to make a snarky comment about this, so I’ll just let you all judge for yourselves. Or you can watch their TV advert, which is as convincing as Stacker 2.

Just when you thought VH1 couldn’t get more ridiculous, here comes “I Love Money.” A whole gaggle of contestants from the recent celebrity dating competition shows, but with no pretense of “love.” I guess this show is more honest about its intentions (and don’t worry, Pumpkin will be there), but it’s kind of a sad state for the human race…

Okay, time to post an inspirational story about a cute animal… anything that doesn’t make me (who even watched Rock of Love 2) vomit a little.

I love dogs!

Forgive me for linking to Perez Hilton again, but this is quite possibly the cutest thing I have EVER seen. Gin is an adorable border collie who dances with her equally adorable 16 year old British owner, Kate. They took Britain’s Got Talent by storm, and I hope they win! I miss my dogs…

Big Boi Ballet?

If you’re still trying to wrap your head around the topic of that last post, here’s a little happy news:

Outkast’s Big Boi has been collaborating with classical ballet choreographer Lauri Stallings to produce a hybrid performance like nothing that has been seen before. The show, called simply “Big,” opens tonight at Atlanta’s Fox Theater, where Stallings has worked with the Atlanta Ballet for many years. While this is Big Boi’s and Stalling’s first real exposure to each other’s genres of art, they both hope to bring both media to new audiences in a creative way.

Love this idea. Love the musical/creative open-mindedness it promotes. I hope it’s as good as it’s hyped up to be! (Bring the show to Cincinnati!)

Favorite quote: “For me [Big Boi's music] sounds like Shostakovich, Stravinsky a little … just today’s Stravinsky,” Stallings said. (from CNN.com)

In case you DON’T get your news from PerezHilton.com and didn’t see this already, here’s a great story. Two high-class individuals in Jacksonville were arrested for breaking into a church to have sex inside. Hott!

I saw this a while back, pre-CynicalMedia.com, so here it is for you all to see! When I looked at the article just now I swear it said “Ministry of Magic” instead of the British “Defence.” Dorkiness aside (or not), this is pretty amazing if it’s as good as they say it is!

Do we NEED invisible tanks? I really don’t think you can sneak up on someone in a tank.

Chuck Norris cries???

chuck norris

APPARENTLY, all of those things I keep hearing about Chuck Norris aren’t true!! My world has been shattered. Penguin Press has published a book of Chuck Norris “facts” without his consent, and ole Chuck is suing them for trademark infringement, unjust enrichment, and privacy rights. Allegedly, Chuck Norris’s tears don’t cure cancer, he does sleep, and he can’t charge a cell phone simply by rubbing it on his beard. Next they’ll be telling me he can actually blend. I don’t know why he’s suing them when a swift roundhouse kick to the face would take care of them…

This is the coolest YouTube video I’ve ever seen. It’s nine and half minutes long, just a bunch of clips that count down from 100 all the way to 1. I can’t even imagine the time that went into making this thing. But here it is; see how many you can name.
