Cynical Media.com was founded in November 2007 after a late-night brainstorming session. The blog is mostly updated by a group of friends who are alumni of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. Previous web projects were the now-deceased satire website, The Cynical Times. The name Cynical Media is partly a homage to The Cynical Times, which was actively updated from 1999-2005.
