So I plop down on my comfortable bed around, well, 10 pm this past Sunday Night. Don’t worry, this isn’t going to turn into some Penthouse Forum letter…

Anyways, MTV2 has a completely new lineup for Sunday. I think they might be trying to compete with Adult Swim and let me tell you, at least for me, it worked!

The first show I saw was called [Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory.]

It’s basically about how Rob Dyrdek has way too much money, owns a giant warehouse, built an incredible indoor-but-feels-like-it’s-outdoor skatepark, buys a blob and  tears shit apart with Lamar Odom, his cousin/assistant Drama, and his lawyer? It is unclear how many people actually work in this office/skatepark/funland. Oh, he also has a new bulldog puppy, which is probably the cutest shit I’ve ever seen.

Grade: A- (Want to see Big Black!)

Next up was a show called [How's Your News?]

This show is about a group of mentally handicapped people who travel around the country in a big bus that has “How’s Your News?” written on the side in an ’80s font. This program was incredibly hilarious, informative, and freakin’ heartwarming too! To me, it demonstrates how many people might look down on the handicapped and shatters any preconceived notions you might have about how intelligent, caring and compassionate these people really are.

jeremy

One guy, named Jeremy, is a drummer. He goes to the Grammies, interviews the bands, and then asks “which one is the drummer?” and proceeds to shake their hand/talk shop with them. Pretty hilarious. Another dude (Bobby) is impossible to understand, but he interviews people anyways. At one point, he’s talking to Jimmy Kimmel, who volunteers that he isn’t gay or straight, he’s just Jimmy. When Bobby interviews someone, they have to make up their own questions; In some cases, they’ll reveal exciting and interesting info, other times, they just say something like “skateboarding rules!” Real insightful, Ryan Sheckler.

bobby

All in all, a great first show, but it left me wanting more. Can’t wait till the next episode. Random note, favorite quote: “On a scale of 1-10, it was probably a 25. Off the fuckin’ chart”

Grade: A

Next up was [The CollegeHumor Show]

Now, if you’re familiar at all with a thing called THE INTERNET then you probably know about College Humor by now. If not, go there now. Some dudes started a website where they get other people to send in their funny pictures, naked girlfriends, snow peni, etc. They also make their own skits, which are usually hilarious. I was pretty excited when I heard that these guys got their own show. Turns out that it probably needs a little bit of work. It was very funny at parts, but some jokes were drawn out a bit too long, Family Guy style.

All in all, a funny sketch comedy show that doesn’t really live up to the website just yet. Give them some time though, and we might have a real winner. I’ll definitely watch again, so they’ve won at least one viewer.

Grade: B-

Finally, we had [Travis Pastrana's Nitro Circus;]

Which is definitely the worst show of the bunch. Here’s how the first episode went: “Hi, I’m Travis Pastrana. I’m a rich douchebag. Look at all the shit I have. Over here I have a sweet foam pit. Be careful, because you can miss it! Cut to mofos hurting themselves by missing the foam pit. Sweet. Then, I have some random guy doing a backflip on a tricylcle. Bitchin’ Next, I’ll try to best him. Wow, look at this giant fucking ramp! It’s GIANT! Wow, after several tries, I successfully complete a giant backflip! WOO! Wait, I didn’t even invite the other guy whose stunt I was trying to best. Does that make me a dumb pussy? Nah….”

Etc, Etc.

Grade: C+ (Had some cool moments, but too much of Travis without a shirt trying to show the world how cool he is. Has potential if it becomes less Travis-Centric.)
